Coach Profile

Years with Cobb Atlanta:
10 years

I grew up in Bloomington, Indiana and decided to attempt volleyball at 12 years old. After all, Hoosiers play basketball!! Turns out I passionately loved the sport and still cannot stop playing!

I went on to play volleyball at Ferris State in Michigan where I had a great start to my freshman season. Everything was going well until I found out I had three herniated disks in my back which required surgery. After surgery, the doctors highly recommended I not play “competitive” volleyball again (is there any other way to play?). I transferred to Indiana University to attend the school of Business and finish my degree, while coaching high school volleyball. Evidentially coaching just wasn’t enough volleyball for me. My neighbor recruited me to try-out for the club volleyball team, which had some amazing players and only practiced a couple of times a week. To me, this sounded “non-competitive”.  Turns out, our team was really good and we ended up 2nd at Nationals. It was a heart-breaking loss, but I did earn the MVP honor.
After graduating college, I packed up and moved to Atlanta, just to get out of the north. I currently work at Turner Broadcasting marketing and promoting original programming for TNT. I have a fabulous husband, Juddson and 2 adorable girls (Kaitlyn - 12, Mia - 8) and live in Marietta. This is my 9th year at Cobb Atlanta, my 14th year coaching overall. I also still play competitive Adult volleyball with the Muffin Tops. We won the BB National Championship last year!
Why do I love coaching? I love seeing the “light switch go on” in the girls….the moment everything clicks and she digs the ball that a month ago she wouldn’t have even attempted to get, or the setter that has been trying so hard to dump left handed and gets a kill on match point. I love to see the girls grow, both mentally and physically.
