Volleyball has been a part of Kayla's life since she was in middle school. Kayla lettered in volleyball as a freshman at Etowah High School in 2004. In her 4 years on Etowah's Varisty Volleyball team, Etowah made it to the Final Four twice, and the Elite Eight twice. Kayla was captain her junior and senior year, playing alongside several D1 scholar athletes. She then went on to play volleyball and tennis at Reinhardt University until she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2012. Throughout college, Kayla worked at the Canton YMCA organizing the recreational volleyball program in the off season.

Kayla has continued to play beach, grass, and indoor volleyball as an adult and still loves to join in on tournaments in her free time. She was the assistant volleyball coach for Wakefield High School in 2019 of which they doubled their wins from the season before! Now that Kayla has moved back home to the Atlanta area, she is ready to share her passion for volleyball with Cobb Atlanta! Kayla has played with and remained great friends with Sarah Richards since 2008. They will make a dynamic duo for the 18-1's team!
