IMPACT Certified, SafeSport Certified, Art of Coaching Head Coach Certificate, PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance)member; and is a Certified Georgia High School Association Community Coach.

Coach Jim played for a men's traveling Club Team in West Virginia for 7 years. He started his volleyball coaching career as an assistant coach for St. Mary's High School in Parkersburg West Virginia. For 5 years he was head coach for a 7th/8th Grade team at St. Catherine's of Siena in Kennesaw and led his team to league regular season champions in 2012 and 2015; end of season Tournament semi-finalists in 2013 & 2014, and Tournament Champions in 2011, 2012, and 2015. He has been coaching Club Ball since the 2011-12 season; and has been a staff coach at several volleyball camps in the Atlanta area. He has coached Cobb Atlanta's 14ATL1 teams in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016; and his 2013 team won two tournament championships.

In June 2013, Coach Jim was Head Coach of the first Cobb Atlanta team to go to the AAU Nationals in Orlando. He again went to AAU's in 2014 coaching a 15's team; and in 2016 and 2019 with a 14's team.

His high school coaching experience includes St. Mary's in West Virginia; as well as Holy Spirit Prep, Cartersville, and currently North Paulding here in the Atlanta area.
