Recap of January 25th Practice

Hello Spurs Family!

I know I haven't posted as much as I have wanted to on here but between school and club sometimes I do get overwhelmed so I apologize for that. 

I thought the tournament this weekend we were very succesful and we played very well. If you as a parent/player have any feedback on my coaching or have any questions, please dont be scared to reach out: email or text message works perfectly fine.


-We started off with our normal CAJ warm up that we always do.

-We then moved onto the 4-corner Run-Thrus which I had already introduced to some of the girls.

-Moved onto Hitting Lines, first with a coaches toss, then we moved to coach tossing with setters, and at the end we tried the actual three touches, with the pass, set and hit. I personally think the girls are improving very nice and It has been such an improvement in just a few weeks.

-We then moved onto diving because the girls were curious as to how you do it because they have seen me do it so much in practice. We did it for like 10 minutes and the girls elbows were in pain and they asked me what to get so they're not in so much pain and I explained they could get either elbow pads or arm sleeves. I will attach the links on amazon to several different options of each if you are interested. My biggest reccomendation is to get ones that protect the part that hurt the most, I personally own the Tandem Elbow Pads, which if you are thinking of getting those I reccomend 10/10. If you cannot afford getting them I told the girls I will bring an extra pair every practice since I own extra because I love them so much.

-We then moved on onto serving and I know that some girls are still struggling to overhand serving so heres a tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_YMO_ZSfsU

-Finally we scrimmaged against the Grizzlies. My next goal for the girls is to start doing actual three touches ith the girls because we have a lot of power from our hitters, we just haven't gotten to the point of actually hitting balls over in game play. But I am certain it'll come in the future.
